Presentation of PASOK

PASOK was founded by Andreas Papandreou in 1974. It succeded the Panhellenic Liberation Movement, which was active during the Colonels' junta. PASOK won the legislative election for the first time in October 1981.

Flag of the PASOK

The flag of PASOK is green with a white rising sun and the party acronym ΠΑΣΟΚ placed below. A flag with the opposite colours (white with a green sun) is also used by the party's supporters. This flag would be more suitable for the party since its emblem is "a green sun" but the party itself always uses the green flag with the white sun.
